About this tool
Delivery estimates, invoice due dates, legal notice periods and project schedules are usually counted in working days rather than calendar days. This calculator does both of the common jobs: it counts the business days between two dates, and it finds the date that falls a given number of business days after (or before) a start date.
Unlike simple calculators that assume a Saturday–Sunday weekend, you can choose a Friday–Saturday weekend (common in parts of the Middle East), a Sunday-only weekend, or no weekend at all. You can also paste a list of public holidays in YYYY-MM-DD format, one per line, and they will be skipped automatically.
Calculations use UTC calendar dates, so daylight-saving changes can never shift a result by a day.
How to use it
- Choose the weekend pattern and optionally paste your holidays.
- For counting, pick a start and end date. For adding, enter a start date and number of days.
- Read the result instantly.
Frequently asked questions
Is the start date counted?
When counting between dates, the start date is counted if it is a working day, and the end date is counted only if you tick 'Include end date'.
Can I enter negative days?
Yes. A negative number moves backwards in time.
Where do I find official holiday lists?
Your government's official gazette or labour-department website is the most reliable source.
